Hi all

Just wonder if you can give me a few tips whilst running in new PC.

I have had it running for 3 hours now with Prime95 and no errors.
My temps are 59,59,59,59 is this too high (using coretemp), I have read other threads regarding "under load" how do I know if it is underload??

Any other tests neede to be carried out???

I feel well chuffed at the moment as this is my first build :D

Thanks for your help.

Everything should be fine if its at stock, providing the BIOS is setup correctly.
Seems a litte on the warm side for temps in Prime at stock though.
I have the same cooler, get to about 70'C at 3.6Ghz.
At stock I get about 40'C-45'C under load.

How do I check if it is underload??? also I put AS5 on CPU wihout realising there was something on the AC7 !!!!

Would it be advisable for me to redo the AC7 properly with just AS5?? and then redo temps??

And another question how to I update bios & drivers? I have downloaded them from Gigabyte and EVGA but not sure how to implement?

Sorry for all the questions but I bow to your superior knowledge

So did you put some AS5 on the processor ... and your not running a stock cooler.. your running a Artic Cooler 7 pro ?...

If so then.. did you wipe the TIM off of the AC7 Pro... or did you leave it on and used the stuff on the processor as well ? if this is the case i would advise you take the AC7 Pro back off... clean both the CPU and the AC7 and then apply the TIM to the CPU only... One line down the middle of a Q6600 Iirc :)

If you have two layers of different TIM and a Artic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro... that would explain the high temps.

Yes I put AS5 on CPU, and yes running AC7 Pro

No I did not wipe TIM off AC7...

Is it alright to use nail varnish remover to remove AS5 & TIM or use something proper?

I will then re apply AS5 to CPU then hopefully have lower temps ;) I will repost if temps are still high.

Thanks for the advice & pics Jimbo
