Hi all, got a bit of a problem and was wondering if anyone knew of a fix :)

I want to run some old software on my computer, in either XP or Vista if possible.
The software should run on Win95/98, and I have tried to run them on those operating systems through VMware, but they OS's dont recognise my audigy 4 and wont allow me to install the drivers for it from my driver cd. It does allow me to install the software, though the software refuses to run without any sound!

The software I would like to get running is Stephen Biesty's Incredible Cross-Sections: Stowaway! (ISBN: 0751315036)

If anyone knows of a way I could get this software running, or where I can buy a later version that would run on XP/Vista, it would be a great help, need it for my uni assigment kinda ;)

Thanks a lot.

Just installed VMTools and Win98 is still saying theres no audio device. Same goes for the software I'm trying to run. Any ideas why?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, I have an audio device in the setup of VMWare. It's also set to use my audigy 4.

I'd vote for the old and crap option :)

Marc, I love you :D Those worked, and I can now use the program :)
VMWare tools couldnt install the svga drivers for some reason and I'm stuck with very choppy and slow graphics. Any idea on a fix?

I tried to follow the instructions that pop up telling me how to manually install the svga drivers, but they were very badly written and I couldnt figure it out.

I'm using a 7800GT.

Edit: Nevermind, I got it.
Thanks for all of the help, greatly appreciate it :) On with my project now :D
Thanks again!

I got it anyway now :P The instructions just started badly. "Click advanced..." Didn't know where to start! :P

But thanks for the help :)
