Running older software on Win7 x64

Ok I've been using 64bit Windows 7 for a week now and it seems to be working ok.

There is a program I use called AkAbak which is free to download on this page:

It seems to work fine on Windows XP 32-bit but refuses to load on Win7. I've tried compatibility mode and even then it will not work.

Is there any way I can get this to run at all as it's quite a useful program.

It's 16-bit, so it'll never run on Win x64. Your only option is to run it in a VM.

+1, there really is not other option. You can use free version of VMware or virtualBox, it is really simple to use even for first time users.

Do you have Win7 Pro/Ent/Ult? If so download XP mode (it's a pre compiled XP image which saves time)
