Hi,
I have more problems for you to solve :D
I have Sky Broadband MAX with their Netgear wireless router.
I am trying to run a Call Of Duty server from my comp (i want to see how well the net performs as a server, 5meg down & 768k up).
I have gone into the router's config at 192.168.0.1, logged in, gone to 'services' and added a service called 'CoD' on ports 28960-28969.
I then went to 'Firewall Rules' and added CoD in both outbound and inbound services (Always allow). Inbound is forwarded to '192.168.0.3' which is this computers IP.
I then went to start a CoD server with the following command line : --"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDMP.exe" +set dedicated 2 +exec sgsd20 +set net_ip 'myipfromwhatismyipaddress.com' +set net_port 28960--
The console loads up but i cannot get onto the server/dont receive a response from the server at mynetip:28960.
Can anyone help me? I have never really been able to get port forwarding to work properly for me :(
Thanks
AMD :)

Just use your local IP when executing the server. Worked for me on MOHAA with a simular command.

Its perfectly normal If you cant connect to your server via your external IP address, you will probably have to connect to it locally.

Did you check with anyone else to see if they could connect?

I didn't think obout that :o 'silly me'
I will try running it from a local IP tomorrow and then asking someone else to join :)
I'll reply with the results :)
thanks
