Cob's single machine output is very impressive :cool: , but I thought SMP clients were intended for multi-core machines, that is, each client needs more than one core to run. Do the SMP client run off a single core of a dual/multi-core system? I'm currently running one WinSMP client on my Centrino, could I run two?

SMP needs at least two cores by definition. Cob's machine has four cores so he's able to run (at least) two clients. I think this means he can run two instances of VMware, each of which lets him emulate two SMP PCs. Of course, I may have misunderstood what he's doing but I think I'm close.

if(Computer Cores == 4)
{
SMP = 2
}

This is due to VMware only allowing Virtual Machines to have 2 processors... so 2 virtual machines would equal 4 cores....

He is running two SMP clients per virtual machine. One SMP client never uses 100% of the CPU so he can run two per VM. The clients will be slower but they will be doing ~10% more work overall.

I used to run two clients at the same time and deadlines were tight on a 4400+. Cob should have no problem on his beast :p

Have considered it myself doing it again but want to get a couple of weeks stats with one client so I can compare :)

Yip if you can make the deadlines and have the spare ~250mb for an extra client, then it's certainly worth it.
