Running two sound cards?

Hi everyone
Basically I want to run a m-audio delta 44 sound card for use with my record decks, yet still have use of the optical output from my abit nf7s mb when i want it. Is this doable and if so how?

I don't have the m-audio, but I know people who have successfully ran two sound cards in the past (e.g. one for speakers, the other for coax/optical).
