Have just formatted my laptop and have all my firewall/anti virus stuff installed as well as drivers, other programs. Heard about running under a limited user just for that extra bit of protection, does this just mean i create another user, with only limited useage, and use this for everything i do, and then just use the admin one to install stuff? i think its that, i just want to make sure :P

Essentialy, yes.

If you went this way you would probably want to use the 'run as' method for installing/launching cetain apps/performing system work. You would however still need to logon as an administrator from time to time for some work.

to be honest just switching users to install something and then switching back again isnt something that is going to bother me at all, will give it a go i think :)

If you take all the necessary precautions I don't think you need the unnecessary ones such as this, it's just a faff on. Only time I'd take special precautions such as this would be if I knew I was a target of someone who had any knowledge.
