G3

Cpu = 500mhz - 900mhz
Ram = 640mb ram

I dont know what programs can emulate windows but could someone point me in the right direction and also how it would preform on the Macs ...

Im not thinking like gaming or Running 10 programs at once just general Windows .. ie firefox .. and winamp playing or is it going to be all laggyand poo

If you only want to run Firefox and Winamp, what would be the point in using Windows!?

Not so good

Virtual PC will be very slow on your Mac.I was very unimpressed with virtual PC on my G5 with 2GHz RAM.

I wouldn't even bother to be honest.If you want to do the double get an intel iMac and bootcamp (like what I have) :D

What is it that you want to do in Windows that OS X can't do? I bet we can point you toward ways of doing things that would allow you to stay in OS X. Anything running in emulation is going to be very slow as it's not meant for critical use.

Virtual PC from Microsoft is quite expensive and not really up to much, especially on a G4 or G3. It's pretty much only good for testing web pages on Internet Explorer and even then it seems to take an age to get started up.

Alternatives to Virtual PC:

Get an Intel based Mac and get Parallels / Bootcamp
Use a VNC client to remotely access a Windows desktop on another machine
Find Mac versions of the software you want ;)
Wait for Darwine to get good

There is not a single thing that you can do with WIndows that you cannot with a Mac so what is the point of putting Windows on it. Both of those systems will run OS X quite easily. :confused:

For instance use Camino (Firefox specifically for Mac) and iTunes.

I only have Windows on my Mac so that i can do .NET development, but that's with Bootcamp. I really wouldn't bother doing it on those machines, it'll be painful :p
