Is there a way to run XP within Vista? ie you boot normally to Vista, then you click on an app and can run in XP. I've had a look at Virtual Machine (app that lets you boot into XP from Vista) but I don't think it works very well. Basically I want to be able to swap between Vista and XP without having to reboot.

Possible? Suggestions?

XP will run very well inside a VMWare Server VM (it's free) with your E6600 (with Virtualization enabled in BIOS) and your 4gb of memory.

Excellent thanks for that reply, will give this a shot.

(Vista x64 isn't letting me load drivers for my pen tablet, and some unsigned drivers for software I want to use).

virtualpc's are not half as responsive as a normal boot though

VirtualBox gives the fastest virtual environment, but its still not a real solution

look on the manufacturers websites for updated drivers and software, if its not there, try emailing them for info on when/if they're releasing any 64bit vista drivers

Have you tried disabling driver signing from the Safe Mode (F8) menu? You'll probably need to do it to run VMWare anyway in x64 Vista.
