RUSE demo on Steam

just had a go now, really couldn't get my head round it. Units didn't do what I wanted them to do. In the end just sent 10 Lancasters to take out one tank as my boys wouldn't do it.
Nice in theory, and I'm sure some will get lots of enjoyment from it. A nice new take on strat games. I don't have the patience for strat games though!
Won't be buying.

This is the game microsoft demoed their "touch-screen-control-table-monitor-projection" thing with I think?

Anyway, needs something like that to make it enjoyable, seems pretty simple otherwise.

Its pretty tough for me as turtling is in no way a viable tactic, which is how I play RTSs. However, I am enjoying playing it, and would be interested in the new game...

But its Ubisoft, which means the new Ubi DRM is there:
A PERMANENT HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION AND CREATION OF A UBISOFT ACCOUNT ARE REQUIRED TO PLAY THIS VIDEO GAME AT ALL TIMES AND TO UNLOCK EXCLUSIVE CONTENT. SUCH CONTENT MAY ONLY BE UNLOCKED ONE SINGLE TIME WITH A UNIQUE KEY. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 13 TO CREATE A UBISOFT ACCOUNT WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT. UBISOFT MAY CANCEL ACCESS TO ONLINE FEATURES UPON A 30-DAY PRIOR NOTICE PUBLISHED AT http://ruse.us.ubi.com/

From the steam page. So I'll have to find an alternate way to play it :3

Yeah really didnt know what to think tbh, Runs like poo all settings maxed 25/35FPS 5970, quite confusing, I think it needs a decent play through tutorial, and is it any better than SC2?

Didn't play with artillery much. I just went with heavy air, at least 2 airstrips, with a bit of infantry and anti tank on the ground if necessary. I've only played a few games though, didn't really like the 'feel' of it.

I'd love to give this a go, but I want a touch screen to play it properly. Otherwise it's just another RTS in an ocean of RTSs. Also, the Ubisoft DRM is a real downside. Until they get rid of the DRM, I'll be voting with my wallet and not buying it.

It's not very interesting. Just scout well, build a few hard counters, mass 20 bombers, then rape their HQ by flying round to it off the map so their AA can't do anything about it until it's too late.

Not a fan tbh, although i'll play it a bit more to double check that.

I dont see anything new or exciting enought o make me buy it - im not a huge fan of these games anyway.

Not bad, but nothing that good either.

Also the camera angles annoys me and everytime i set it right i scroll out and its back at they annoying angle!

I kinda enjoyed it, not amazing but not crap either, I was tempted to buy the full game but then read that it uses the Ubisoft 'always-on' drm, so no, not a chance :p

I didn't play this the first time around, but I assume the demo today is a new one ?

Looks very nice, and seems to play well - I would prefer the ability to issue orders whilst paused, as I'm not really an RTS player, but we'll see.
