This on the list of something I must do before I die (not necessarily a typhoon, but any modern fighter)
Funnily enough I just watched that. Very cool indeed. Even from the limited cockpit camera you can see the differences in speed and "cornering" (lol) from when Russell and Ted were in control, to when the real pilots put some proper manoeuvres on each other.

It was clearly stated in the video that these were flights that were going to happen anyway and were to keep the pilots current. They weren't put on specifically for this. They were training flights.
Even if they hadn't been, it's estimated that an hour in a Typhoon costs a bit under £4000 but let's assume that and therefore a cost to the taxpayers of £8000 in total.
There are approximately 32,000,000 taxpayers in the UK.
8000/32000000
£0.00025 per person.
I enjoyed this piece in the buildup to the race.
I'm sure it was a regulation training flight for the officers involved to keep their hours up for their "licences"
