Russian GP deal to be signed later

Hmm still a few years away yet. Do the Russians follow F1 much or is it going to be another empty grandstand event.

The Russians used to have quite an active motorsport scene. There even used to be a Soviet F1 Championship. I'm not sure how things currently sit though.

2 current venues for the chop eh?

Valencia can do one too, but that won't happen.

Let me guess at the circuit layout. Two long straights with 180 turns at the end. Lots of corners over 90 degrees where you blip the throttle inbetween corners and start braking for the next >90 degree bend. No fast flowing corners and everyone gets bored fast.

Looks like a complete carbon copy of Korea, why do they keep insisting on these boring Tilkedromes? Who ever came up with the idea that Tilke was good at designing circuits? Apparently it contains stretches of public road, doesn't make it any less of a terrible track.

NOOOO not another bore fest. Why dont they take advice of the fans and listen to what tracks are popular and base them on that formular.

Interlargos, Spa, Silverstone, Suzuka

It would be ace if somone decided to take famous corners on all these tracks and try to combine them into one track :D

That's exactly what Magny Cours tried to do (well not those exact tracks, but same idea), and that didn't work out. Magny Cours is one of my favourite tracks to drive in simulators, but it just didn't work for F1.

My 20 would be, in no particular order:

Spa Francorchamps
Portimao
Potrero de los Funes, Amazing track, built round a big lake, GT races there are immense.
Melbourne/Adelaide
Silverstone
Monza
Monaco
Suzuka
Hockenheim/Nurburgring
Zandvoort
Montreal
Abu Dhabi
Interlagos
Jerez
Imola
Paul Ricard

Thats 16, now pick any 4 from Malaysia, India, Korea, Russia, Turkey, Singapore, China etc, wherever Bernie fancies making money. I have no idea why they aren't racing at Potrero de los Funes, if you've never seen it before, watch some videos, absolutely incredible track.

I'd want the A1 ring back. It always provided more overtaking than the so called drivers circuits added together. I'd also like to see the return of Estoril.

yES!

Was it that circuit that Hill almost won in the arrows but villeneuve managed to get him near the end?

SRSLY Bahrain!!! that is probably the worst track on the calender every race is mega predictable.

I still think interlagos is my fav

Who lets Tilke design all the new tracks anyway? Why does nobody seem to appreciate that variety makes things interesting rather than these contrived layouts :(

Give someone else a go, preferably an ex-F1 driver...let him do the design and let the landscapers/engineers makes it work.

That was Hungary wasnt it?

I personally always thought France was more interesting that Bahrain (although France was around for a veryyyyy long time so its a little biased maybe)

I would also like to see one country hold one grand prix/season (none of this favouritism to Germany or Spain, - if they want two F1 circuits then they can alternate every year).... (even though I would have France and Monaco, and Imola and Monza, and while two are in principalities its splitting hairs slightly)

Melbourne
Spa
Silverstone
Monaco
Monza
Suzuka
Hockenheim
Interlagos
Hungary
Montreal

Are my favourites but Bernie really needs to choose another designer before the F1 circus is jetting off to all these new locations but Wwe end up having the same race because the track is just the same

How can you suggest Bahrain? imo its by far the worst track on calendar.

Well yes imho i chose Bahrain to fill a space, The Old circuit was ok, i dont like the new section they put in, and the drivers didn't either. i would be happy to not have Bahrain in but again space filler :P
