Rusty Mount

Hi everyone,

Think this rust has gotten to the point where it will need replacing? I haven’t had the car long and it doesn't seem to be a problem. Should I remove the rust and paint it to stop it spreading?

Clean it up if you wish, but that's absolutely nothing to worry about at all.

Only a bit of surface rust.

I though it was only surface rust but when it started flaking off in chunks I was a little bit worried

Where is the oil leak??

(You have only had the car a short time and it looks very much as if the engine bay has been jetwashed! That is why it is rusting!

)

Get some Hydrate 80, paint it on and It will never rust again! (Especially if you spray afterwards with waxoyl)

I wouldn't worry about it, probably point a can of wd40/lithium grease at it if I had one in my hand though! That is a very clean engine bay though!

Helpfully right in the bright spot! You can just see the scabs around the side.

wouldnt worry about it, but giving it a blast of rust converter and a quick splash of paint will slow it up.
