The only difference as standard between an RV03 switched off and running is the front light chevron. Off = no light. On = white light left and right. On & accessing HDD = white light at sides and red light in the middle.
Unless you're sad like me and add white cathodes to the inside, then it's pretty obvious when it's on and running!
For the record, I still love the looks of the RV03 although I definitely seem to be in the minority on this one. The RV04 however, I am very disappointed in. The main thing I liked was the 90 degree rotation concept which, to me, made perfect sense and allowed a straight path for airflow from bottom to top. By losing that and adding a front door, the RV04 seems to have lost any originality and uniqueness - it's now simply a case just like the hundreds of others out there. Shame.
