RV04 anyone?

I actually quite like the look of the FT04. I'd really like an FT02 but its too long for my pc space and the FT01 while also quite nice, is a little old hat.

This almost exactly what I need. I just hope they give the option of mounting the HDD bay across the case with some vent holes and hotswap support.

Hang on...so Silverstone patent the 90 rotated mobo so nobody else can use it, but then go and mess up the basic premise of it with the RV03, use it gratuitously and badly for the TJ11 and then totally drop it for the 4th generation?

What a shame. Best get my FT02 before it vanishes then!

I didnt know they patented it... thats such a shame because since silverstone dont seem to want to put out a new version of the FT02 i was kind of hoping corsair or someone would take a leaf from silverstones book and put out their own 90 degree bottom to top cooling unibody case with.

You can only patent the design not the idea can't you. Pretty sure someone could design a 90 degree mobo with a different mounting mechanism or something

why cant the raven be £200+ case like the 1st one?

They all seem like compramise. Made cheap cases after the 1st the second was okay but compared to when i 1st saw the RV01. I thought premium product, it looks like that all got moved to the TJ11. Which if i ever got rid of my RV01 thats the case i would get it screams quality

The RV04 is a stupid design not even logical why 180 with a front air intake ??

Goes against the whole RV design priciple  and all forms of GPU will struggle to cool as they will be trying to force air down and when hot air rises. Its a losing battle, the only way this would work is water cooling the gpu's to show off the water block design.

well I'm getting an rv02 :D gonna watercool it and mod it :D

I'm gonna create a raven owners club when I get it too ;)

What the hell is up with the layout in the RV04?

CPU cooler beneath the graphics cards? That will roast any Xfire/SLI set up.

I think the RV03 is a good change from the RV02 as it keeps the 90º mount (which I love) but makes better use of space with the PSU so the overall depth of the case is reduced (the only bugbear I have with my RV02).

Not fussed by looks as it is under my desk and I am not some boy-racer computer owner. :p

It is very much black.

I think sales of the old Raven RV02 & Fortress FT02 cases will go through the roof with this announcement tbh ... maybe that was Silverstone's plan all along.:D

Be interesting to see the thermal/noise results of these imho the RV02 & FT02 should have been used as the blue-print for these new cases instead they seem to have gone on another tangent completely.

The great thing about the older cases were the solid built quality and the fact you could make an uncluttered and easy build in them - to me Silverstone have cheaped out on the looks/materials and tried to stuff as much "features" into the case as possible ... imho massive fail and tbh adding to quite an alarming long list for the company in recent years.

The rv03 is fantastic no idea why the op hates it so much lol I have the grey stripe version and I can assure you it looks better in the flesh (coming from a silverstone ft01 one of the most beautiful cases ever made) it's never going to look as nice as brushed black aluminum but then what does ? it's a very sturdy solid hunk of metal only thing letting it down is the plastic top
