Hi all I did a quick search and cant find a thread like this. OK Ive some RW2 format photos and I cant view them in normal windows 7. Ive tried them in an old version of corels paintshop pro to no avail. What photo viewer can I use please be gentle I am new in here. :D:D

If you go to the Microsoft download page you should be able to download the codec for your camera, allowing you to view them in win7.

Ok thanks. I don't have a camera currently. Basically they are mine and Seabiscuits wedding photos on a disk, we are getting an album as well but the photos have been given on a disk so would like to have another look at them. :)

Ok, soooo....

From my own personal experience with RW2, they can be a bit of a pain to open.

Personally I'd make a copy of all the images (so you have a back up in case), and download the Lightroom 4 Trial off of Adobe. That way you can use it to export them to jpg or whatever you want. (You could actually edit them as well, but exporting is all you really need so that they're a jpg. Lightroom 4 trial is only 30 days, but figure that'll be long enough for you to export them?

Alternatively, complain to the photographer, and get him to export them to jpg anyway?

Irfanview will open them but only after you download the plugin for them.

A Lightroom trial might actually work out as the easiest way to do it lol
