I'd imagine there aren't many on here. Clarkey is one person who I can think of.

Most people on here would rather compare the smell of door cards and the noise that indicators make :p

I used my RWD R34 in the mid '00s when it was still an extremely amateur event held a very few locations. Some of the guys involved in the "early days" then went on to form Driftworks etc and since then it's great to see how well it's taken off in the UK.

I stopped when the costs required to keep my car running drift started to get silly :D

:D What car is this wheel coming from? :p

I don’t have a drift missile but I have some fun on my way to work in my daily, 1993 Toyota MR2
LSD diff?

LSD or welded diff? What sort of power is this MX5 running?
This is something I want to try and do whilst I still have a rear wheel drive car but I am too much of wimp :p
There're places where you can practice and even if you spin out, you won't end up on a wall. :)

Nice, driftworks are well known nowadays. Their AE86 Trueno is mental :cool::D

Me and my dad are thinking about buying an old beemer with 2.8l, my mate said he can weld the diff and help with setting the car up. But atm, I'm still doing my research... I know it won't be cheap, but which motorsport is actually cheap? :p

Had no issues in my E46 330d, granted more torque, but the same tyre size and less power.

You don't need to be going quickly to get the rear end to step out.

I have intentionally got the back out once or twice on a roundabout near where I work (when my rears were soon to be replaced) but it wasn't really a drift (as in going forwards, sideways) more a "controlled oversteer" (staying still, sideways) as I was doing about 15 mph... and now I just feel shame for some reason lol

I could never do any more than a very minor wet weather step out at the back for about 2 milliseconds with my 330. The E36 felt happier to do it but I was equally incapable.

My MR2's tried to kill me any time the back done anything, like a lurching uncontrollable pendulum - so I'm genuinely surprised by the suggestion of drifting one around the countryside elsewhere in the thread!

I'm sure I'd be able to improve my level of shameless ham fistedness off road right enough

If you ever get chance try and do a skid awareness course, i did one through work about 7 years ago it. The instructor i had was really good and it really teaches you how to feel the balance transfer in the car at very slow speed, that course helped me learn more about car control than the 5 or so track days i'd done before it and really helped me afterwards. They use those cars with outriggers that they can raise and lower to bring on under and oversteer.

I've never had a RWD car myself to learn properly (only FWD and then AWD fast stuff) but i've managed to hold some pretty epic slides using the same techniques i just couldn't power out of them looking like a hero like you can in a RWD:p

Done it once or twice. Not really big on filming though, this is about as good as you can expect from me

I would go and decide to hit record when the tyres are shot too, oh well.

As for advice, a 328i will do you well, most people use them to begin with and I did. Only need a bucket seat & wheel, cheap coilovers and weld the diff and that will get you started no worries. Setup is simple for them 0 toe all round, front 7-8deg caster -3deg camber, rear as upright as you can get it, job done.
