As the title says, whenever I put the card in the computer doesn't make it past POST and there's no signal to the monitor.

The old GTX 470 works fine, as does the onboard graphics, but the second the RX460 is put in the computer fails to do anything.

Motherboard is a MSI H67MA-E35 (B3). PSU is a Corsair CX430.

My best guess is that the motherboard can't provide enough power (this card doesn't have any PCIe power connectors), could this be the issue?

Thanks!

Nope, I'll be trying that today (it's a firend's brother's PC, not mine :p). Think It'll make a difference?

had a quick look on the MSI web site at the motherboards spec sheet. the last BIOS update was November 2013 ( version 13.2 )
it might help but looks like the board lost support a long time ago. you can only try the newest BIOS on the hope that it might work.

has the card been checked in another machine? ( just on the off chance the card is DOA )

Yep, tested the card and it's perfectly fine :)

Any idea if the lack of pcie power could be the cause?

I notice the board only has a 4 pin connector but I would have thought the GPU would pull its power from the 24 pin socket rather than the 4 or 8 pin plug as im sure this provides power to the CPU ( please correct me if im wrong )

That's what I was hoping someone might be able to tell me

If it's the 4 gb model you need a 6 pin pcie cable but not if it's the 2gb.

Id update the mb bios as suggested.

If the mb bios isn't uefi, there's a possibility that the card's bios doesn't work with legacy bios. Or the card may have a bios switch to set the legacy bios.

It's a 2gb card. The motherboard does have a UEFI BIOS, I've looked at the updates on MSIs site and they don't say anything about improving graphics card compatibility. Would it still be worth trying?
