Ever since installing this RX 480 i've noticed afew prolems..

1) I seem to be getting screen tearing whilst watching videos.. but not whilst gaming.

2) My mouse cursor image becomes corrupt every so often.. only way to fix it is to reboot the system or put it to sleep. But the problem returns within 30 minutes.. Adding mouse trails also seem to work but it seems to amplify the screen tearing issue...

Honestly wish i got the gtx 1060 now as i never had any of these problems with my 560ti..

16.8.2.. happened on the version before too.

After googling it the mouse cursor issue seems to quite common with AMD.. and has never really been addressed

1. try another driver version

2. what motherboard do you have ? this card pull a lot of power from the mobo

3. i always had amd cards they always seemed fine. wells there will be always be a bad card

Mobo is an asus z170-p... more than good enough. I have since reinstalled my 560ti and the problems have gone. Tried several drivers with no luck.. even a clean install of windows

I've never seen the dodgey/corrupt mouse cursor through lots of AMD cards but funnily enough i've just started getting screen tearing when browsing or watching youtube when i switched from AMD to Nvidia. I've done a bit of googling and found lots of people saying turning off Hardware acceleration and accelerated/smooth scrolling stopped it for them, and switching themes on older version of windows seems to fix it for the rest.

None of these options worked for me but ya should probably try them as they seem to work for most.

Found a fix... Returned the 480 and got a 1060 instead. No more problems and the games are running great!

Overclockers customer service is amazing.

The corrupt mouse pointer has plagued AMD for years, ive only ever had it the once, on my old 290X, couple of years ago now.

Enjoy your new card :)
