Hi all,

I am thinking about buying a RX 5600 XT to replace my current GTX 1060. I stumbled upon this model from Powercolor: https://www.powercolor.com/product?id=1583481410#spe at a very low price (its not the prettiest). I just wanted to know whether or not its worth picking up, since its on sale for around 50 dollars less than any other RX 5600 XT. So basically it just wanted to know if you guys know some issues with it or if you have any experience with it.

Hope you amazing people have the time to help me.

If you want a cheap(er) one I'd consider Sapphire's new BE model, I haven't seen any reviews yet and it is slower than other 5600s, but their coolers and build quality are usually superior to the other brands. PowerColor are a genuine brand and their coolers are alright, but they're usually cheaper for a reason, though they do also make some higher-end stuff.

Exactly this.

it's not worth the upgrade from a 1060

heaven 4.0 1920x1080 ultra extreme

rx 470 4gb mild overclock of 1330/1750 min frames 31 avg 71 max 151

5600xt min 31 avg 86 max 171

I'm just saying those figures kind of expose the 5600xt a little even though it isn't games, I got one and returned as it wouldn't flash to 14Gbps but it was a blessing in disguise really as it isn't that much better than polaris.
+10 -15 fps more in games than a cheapo polaris card isn't my idea of £250 + well spent

Stick with that 1060 a little while longer I say unless the 5600xt is say £200 then I suppose it's an okay deal

Something not right there 5600 is 30%+ faster than a 1060, 40% over a 470. Possible CPU bottleneck or that benchmark is too old.

a 5600XT is on par with a 2060 super so either you're thinking of the 5500 or you have an issue with your computer. Heaven is also heavily biased towards CPU. You need to compare it to an actual game.

The best 2 5600xts I have seen are the gigabyte gaming (triple fan) and the sapphire Pulse is top of the tree

Both available around the £270 mark last time I looked and worth the few extra quid

also if you're not comfortable doing the bios upgrade thing yourself, try and go for a model where this is definitely present already. Also seems that some (well, one) online vendors are saying they upgrade cards as necessary ...

nope no issues the heaven figures are accurate the 5600xt simply isn't as good as you think it is it's literally 15 fps faster than an overclocked 4gb 470/480

and its not faster than a 2060 super , a 14gbps flashed 5600xt is a tiny bit faster in some things than a regular 2060 it's pretty much a 2060.A 12gbps 5600xt sits in between a 1660 super and a 2060

I didn't say better I said on par. Don't know why it wouldn't flash as they all have proper 14gb bios's that you can use. I had to use a different flash program to the one AMD supplied as that wouldn't work on mine. no one should buy a 12gb 5600XT

https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_radeon_rx_5600_xt_gaming_z_review,18.html within 4 fps of a 2060 super almost 30 fps or 60% faster than an RX 580 8GB

https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_radeon_rx_5600_xt_gaming_z_review,20.html within 4 fps of a 2060 super and almost double that of an rx 580 8GB

ive tested it its not even 60% faster than my rx470 so no idea where theyre getting that 60% faster than a 580 from, a 5600 is pretty much an overclocked rx 580 performance wise

its not. I replaced an overclocked watercooled RX580 with a 5600XT and its way faster.
ah mine wasnt i recorded 15 frames or so more than my rx470 on gtav and fallen order @ 1080p

just ran heaven on my kids system. r5 2600 stock; 16gb cl16 3200mhz ram; stock red devil RX5600XT (14gb memory)

average fps 103
score 2605
min fps 41.9
max fps 189.1

Heaven is a crap benchmark to compare graphics cards with however.

it is crap i guess yea but it gives you a rough idea of the raw power, yes the 5600xt gets an 11% increase at 14Gbps memory but even so when you can pick up a 580 for £130-£140 and £80 second hand is that £250 + well spent ?

an overclocked rx 580 will get you near the coat tails of a stock 5600xt
I had a lucky escape and returned my 5600 , it wouldn't flash to 14gb memory but in hindsight I really don't think it's a good buy and nor the 2060 when they're not much faster than an £80 - £140 card

for £250-£300 you want something double a 580 performance no ?

The reviews i have showed the 5600 trading blows with / beating a Vega64 at both 1080 and 1440p resolutions.....

The variation in what people are seeing is quite weird. Several people on here have replaced dead Vega's with them and seen a good increase

I nearly jumped shipped and picked up a Gigabyte before I got my deal on the VII

Also a 5600xt user having switched from an RX570 4gb and my experience is similar to that of Ross. I noted a rather significant jump in performance at 1080. I'm now at 1440p where the card still does pretty well. It's to see me through until I know what i need for cyberpunk. Paired with an r5 3600 @ stock. I've got the powercolor red dragon and it's ok, in hindsight I'd probably plump for another brand as I've had problems getting the fans to actually spin up and not cook the card. Got it working fine now though.

No idea what's up with C64's numbers mind. Half inclined to go dig out my 570 from the loft now to compare but i noted a 40-50% ish jump for Warhammer Total war 2 when i did the swap.

I went from 20% clocked gtx 960 to one, decent jump at 1080p.

Odd GPU though in some circumstances, faster with higher details in some games, especially older ones. Boosts higher, or you need force higher min boost clock in the drivers.

5600xt is also driver crippled at the moment. Not allowed to push more than 1820 on the core.

If when AMD allow it, should clock like a 5700 or maybe 5700xt to 2k GHz or beyond, 15 to 30% more performance to be had I would guesstimate.
