Hey everyone,

I have very recently finished my first build, and I was using a sapphire nitro + rx 5700xt. It was working fine at first, but then I (stupidly) decided to update to the most recent drivers. Instant black screen as soon as the download finished. I tried turning my pc off and on, but now I literally get no display at all. My VGA mobo debug light comes on.

When I swap to my old rx 580 I had in my prebuild, everything works fine. I used ddu to get rid of the new drivers, and tried installing ones that were more stable, but still the same. No display when I put my 5700 back in.

Honestly a bit bummed out by all this, should I try other drivers? RMA? Get a refund and go for something better? Getting a bit tired of swapping gpu's around. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your GPU died, If you have warranty apply for an RMA. Based on what you described it does not sound like updating a driver killed your GPU. Electronics fail sometimes, that’s why they have warranty for 2+ years.

I feared as much. Though this issue literally started the moment I downloaded the driver. Maybe turning my pc on and off caused some damage? If it was just a matter of changing drivers, I'd be getting something atleast.

So I guess an RMA is in order.
