Hey guys,

Im looking into buying a Titan Falcon build but it seems there is a lot of buzz with the new AMD GPU's...but as a mid-range buyer (around 1k total build) is it worth to wait for VEGA? Or is it not targeted at the 1080P/budget buyers?

Also if the RX580 is reccomend, which of the below would you recommend. With the AORUS being alittle more expensive?

Gigabyte Aorus RX580 XTR 8GB Edition vs Sapphire Radeon RX589 Nitro+ 8GB Edition?

@philuk20 I have the XTR and extremely happy with it ( no pun intended) , able to run bench marks without the fans kicking in to! haha
My first card can hit 1450 on the core but run 9 Gbps run on the ram.
Wife just collected the second one today :D

Yeah im really tempted to jump on the Gigabyte model, it looks amazing too. What is your build? What sort of 3dmark firestrike score do you get? What temps are you seeing at load?

"xxx is overkill for 1080p".... is always wrong!
That's reletive to what you expect from 1080p. Max settings at 60FPS or max out a monitor than can do 144Hz. If so you tend to need a decent CPU to go with a card with such high framerates at 1080p and people that can afford a high end card such as a 1080Ti most likley will not have a mid range cpu for example a i5 3570k avergae clocked.

However a mid range gamer aiming at 1080p 60FPS might have this sort of setup. So a 1080Ti would be overkill for them.

If you have a 7700k for example i very doubt your going to be aiming at 1080p at 144Hz with a 1080ti lol. More like 1440p minimum.

I get also tired of people saying no card is overkill for 1080p. It's relative to the person's desire for example does he or she play CSGO or Overwatch and need very high FPS?

Well im looking at BF1 likely being the most taxing game I play, with mostly MOBA's and MMO's the rest of the time. I feel the VEGA could be over-price/over-kill for what i need.

Build is Aorus K5 with Ryzen 5 1600 (saved money over getting X and justed overclocked it) @ 3.8 (can go higher) with Corsair 16gb LXP 3000mhz, runs 2933 with XMP.

Will run some tests tonight although I do have Xfire now haha . As you can see there is now a Giant 54mm radiator infront of them but hits 56c during Asus Realbench and Firestrike xtreme with fans on their default profile

Both cards run 9 Gbps using Wattman Software which is still better then any 3rd party OC tool for RX cards in my opinion.
Will be changing the thermal Paste on both cards with Grizzlie to see if they knocks them down like it has done with Nvidia cards i've done builds with

MOBA - never gonna be an issue as generally they are well optamised (heck you can play dota 2 on internal graphics albiet it is terrible)
MMO - 1080p not going to be an issue
BF1 - IF you don't need ultimate graphic mode and > 60fps not an issue

In saying that do you need it now? Vega release could alter price points, there is the potential for example the 1070 could become agressively priced. I upgraded because the fan noise on my 7950 was annoying the bajesus out of me.
