hey guys, can any one let me know the average temps for an rx 580 8GB, I seem to sitting a silly numbers in the high 70’s in two cards in two different machines.
One is a Nitro + other Msi Armor, non of them sit at 0 rpm on the fans when idle. Which according to the manufacturer they should. So either I have a bad fan curve on both or something else wrong

Need more details. Cases, air flow, GPU settings, load example, ambient temp etc.

For one thing, high 70s are chilly temps for a GPU under a stressing game load and nothing to worry about. If it starts going past 80 (and keeps climbing) then you can start worrying.

There's a LOT of room to tweak the Polaris cards, out of the box pretty much all of them are too conservative/lax with settings, but esp. the ones after the first gen (4xx), so you get them over-volting & over-heating.

First thing to do, as a crude starting point, is to bump power limit to +50%, undervolt by 25mv, apply constant fan speed of 60% and loop some benchmarks. Record the results then start adjusting accordingly.

Remember to not get bogged down in the weeds. A lot of people wrack their brains trying to get temps lower & lower for absolutely no other reason than to do it. So long as the card isn't throttling (nor is the excess heat causing issues to other components) then the temp number is IRRELEVANT. Usually if the card doesn't keep climbing past 80 degrees then it's fine, even if not ideal.
