RX 6750XT dropping at around £450 , is it worth the slightly steeper price compared to cards like the RX 6700 XT and the RTX 3060 TI in the long term

Thoughts?

Unlikely, I expect it'll be ineffective/upgrade fodder at the same time as the 6700 XT and 3060 Ti (ray tracing aside).

Wait until the 7000 series is released - like nvidia, AMD will want to get rid of 6000 series stock once new gen is out. Imagine they'll be a price drop then. I know its a 3rd more but 6900XT is £650 - that'll see you right for a while - less once 7000 released maybe.

The issue is that there aren’t a lot of AMD cards around. The only shop that has plenty of stock also thinks the mining boom is still ongoing. Soo don’t expect a price drop from AMD. Nvidia has already signalled they are happy with the current pricing.

Plenny of cards about. OCUK has a 6900 XTU at £1999 so dunno who you are referring to still thinking the mining boom is going on and only have stock. Elsewhere loads of AMD cards. checked 3 off top of head - all similar price and stock.

Nvidia have already dropped the price of 3000 series when they released 4000 - didn't say they were dropping more. AMD may do the same when the 7000's drop. If someone is keeping the prices high, they wont sell em. Bit like that £2k 6900..........get a 4090 for less. Even 4090's are dropping.

Up to OP. Gamble and buy now @£450 if budget is tight, get a 6900XT for £650 (were £1400) which is as good or better in some games than a 3090. Or if budget is tight, wait for 7000 series. After budget yesterday there will be a squeeze on finances plus xmas drawing money in another direction.

No right or wrong answer - we are all guessing.

Stock is moving quickly and the prices are about as low as they will go, even Gibbo has made a comment to that in another thread. If you want for 7000 you risk not having stock or prices going up.

OCUK has few SKUs left of the different tiers of AMD cards. the 6900xt only has 2 SKUs. the 6700xt has 2 SKUs and only 1 is in stock. Compare that to Nvidia who have double digit SKUs available on the 3070 series most of them in stock.

I am aware that Nvidia would have more SKUs in general but the difference is far more extreme than you would expect.

I won’t call them by name but the shop I am referring to has 13 6700xt SKUs all in stock and the cheapest is £463 ( nearly £20 more expensive than what OCUK sells). They have 5 SKUs in the £750 range.

They have 6 SKUs for the 6900xt with the cheapest at £959.

You can see why I said these guys think the mining boom is ongoing.

@ OP - the collective have spoken - retailers are unable to buy any more stock from AMD and AMD have none left to sell of 6000 series? What you see as retail stock is all that's left........:(

Considering you can currently buy an RX 6800 for a few quid under £450 I'd say a RX 6750XT for the same price is defiantly not worth it.

I'm close to pulling the trigger on one myself but I'm hesitating as I'd prefer to buy one from OCUK but IDK if they'll have any RX 6800 for around that price in the coming week, maybe @Gibbo could give us a heads up.

Why…6750XT is worth like £300 at best tbh

If you buy it then decide to sell it after 1 week. It will be like £250

Amd RX6000 is very overpriced for what they are. And they hold poor residuals

That’s not saying Nvidia was good value. Other than the 60ti/70/80 FE models everything else was over priced when released and all skus are over priced right now
