RX 6800 XT Question

Hi newby here, after waiting ages for my 5800x from overclockers ive recived it and am very happy with it but im now turning my attention to a new GPU, while im well aware of the current shortages im surprised theres a pinned thread for the rtx 3000 cards but i have not seen one for the rx 6000 cards.....

Is there a thread ive missed and if not could we have one?

It doesn’t look like OcuK are going to sell the new AMD GPUs so you may want try other retailers which have been getting stock and selling it.

OCUK are waiting for a decent amount of stock so they can sell them and not end up with huge back orders they would have to refund which will cost them a fortune.

AMD have cocked up royaly with the stock. They have prioritised consoles Sony Xbox and CPU over GPU.

Try and get one for RRP is impossible but try. otherwise just get an 3080FE. Better card , quicker card with more features. Drop of 3080 should be coming soon.

Console GPU production is down to Sony and MS, they are the ones that contract wafer production for their own consoles.

The problem is there just isn't enough capacity to go round.

Console GPU production is down to AMD and their contract with TSMC.
AMD has put too many eggs in one basket and its spilled over.

Microsoft is also leaning on AMD to produce more of the chips for XBOX.

Leaving the stock dry in other places.

Edit: Until the console market stabilise, I can't see 6-series availablity improving x

Thanks, That kinda makes sence, im a bit embarrassed not to have have considered it myself especially how many tec sites i tend to watch.

As for competitors ive not seen any with stock but since my current card is still "ok" for now i can wait although if prices go any higher then im going to have to see if its worth it.
