RX Vega Problems

Hi Guys,

I've got a Sapphire RX Vega 64 however I've been having problems. On a fairly regular basis when underload (usually playing PUBG) my entire system crashes and the gpu fan spins up to the fastest it'll go. The only way to shut down is to hold power button in at this point. I initially thought that this was caused by my weak power supply I had a 500 watt corsair. So I upgraded to a 750 watt psu. I had no issues with my old rx 580 so I'm fairly confident that the gpu is the problem. Any ideas?

Thanks guys.

Vega needs a fairly high quality PSU, A friend of mine was initially running his V64 on a 650w PSU and getting the same shutdowns you describe, He changed it out to a 1000w and zero issues since.

Are you using seperate cables to power it ?, as not doing so can cause problems as well, and is it the liquid or the air you have ?, if the liquid, then it could be faulty, as their is a very high number that are.

What drivers are you running?

I've started to get PC lock ups/red screen crashes with PUBG and starting to think it might be the latest drivers as not sure what else has changed.
Before I next play I'm thinking of rolling back and seeing if it get it again.

If a 750W can't power a Vega 64 card, then there is something wrong either with the card or the PSU.

That's a bit disappointing to hear. Just forked out £80 for the corsair 750 psu. Can't really justify upgrading again.

What Corsair 750w PSU did you get? Some of them are really poor. IF it has 4 PCie connectors, you know two on one cable and two on the other, then try using 1 from each cable in the card.
