RX240 or EX280

Either or, personally I'd go with the RX240, more fan choice above all other things, I suspect the rx v3 would be a better performer over the ex280 too.

The RX is good with low speed fans, 600 to 800 RPM's, but the EX will beat the RX with fans speed from 1200 RPM's and upwards, so in short is you want cool and quiet then get the RX if you want out right performance then get the EX, whilst the RX is thicker, it does not equal better, reason for this is the low FPI compared to the EX which as a higher FPI, if you want something that is up there with the best then the Alphacool NexXxos UT60 is a good all rounder with all fan speeds, the temperature difference between them all is not really that different, and in the real world not that important, only to some, other thing to point out is thicker rads tend to have worse flow, and may require a stronger pump, i use the EX360 with some Noctuas, really not that loud, but not silent

both are good rads (i have both) but yeah as stated rx are better at the lower fan speeds and ex better when they are running at higher speed. (i mix and matched because i am odd like that, theory being i get 50/50 aka a happy medium)
