they might have done it to keep the tdp down. or maybe they were planning a rx460 X

I wouldn't call any free performance pointless. Just being negative for the sake of it.

Not at all. I don't call 1-3 fps even worth bothering with. It's hardly game changing and from what someone posted in the other thread AMD is already clamping down on it.
