RX480 and Photoshop Problem

I've just upgraded to an MSI Gaming X 8GB RX480 and since doing so Photoshop throws up the following warning and is unable to open any files at all.

However if I uninstall the AMD drivers and just use the IGPU then photoshop works fine without any issue.

I've currently got Radeon Software 16.11.5 installed. Is anyone using an RX480 with Photoshop CC 2017 without issue? I tried rolling back to CC 2015.5 and that keeps crashing when opening files (CC 2017 just sits there blank and doesn't come up with the usual open dialogue when loading or any of the toolbars etc).

I've tried removing CC and the AMD drivers and software completely and doing a fresh install, though same problem persists. Tried various files by using open with in windows explorer and well as using the file open menu within Photoshop. The same files open fine in illustrator fwiw.

I was also looking for the Radeon Advanced Settings to see if I could set performance for Photoshop to High Performance. It seems that I'm unable to get to them, under preferences in the Radeon Settings it says install now, but if I click on it then it says currently installed 16.40.3211.1101-161123a1-309114E and checking for updates says it is up to date.

Going to the Photoshop Performances Preferences the use Dedicated Graphics Processor option is greyed out.

Anyone got any ideas, after lots of google reboots and multiple uinstalls and reinstalls I'm out of ideas. If you're using an RX480 and Photoshop CC 2017 without problem, what version of the drivers and software are you using?

Cheers!

You haven't specified what CPU you are using but try disabling the integrated gpu in the bios. You can also try using an older driver and see if the problem persists. Might be buggy adobe software.

Just had another idea and tried disabling the IGPU in device managent. After I did that photoshop used the RX480 and was working fine.

Enabled the IGPU again and same problem, looks like photoshop is using the IGPU in preference to the RX480. If anyone knows how to set the priority that would be very helpful.

(thanks for the suggestion theforce tried it as you posted)
