RX480 fans stuck at 100% after applying new thermal paste

Hello.

Just cleaned out and reapplied some thermal paste to my Sapphire Nitro+ RX480 8GB.

On boot, fans were pegged at 100%. Tried changing via wattman, afterburner and trixx to no avail. Fresh driver install with DDU. Tried reseating and removing the fan plug, no luck. Also tried resetting bios.

The card itself still works fine at stock and also with my 1350/2100 overclock with an undervolt.

Really at a loss, any ideas?

Thanks.

Check if the connector for the fans wasn't bent/damaged during the process.
If temperature is fine (must be at 100%), i don't think it's the thermal issue forcing the fans to run at full speed.

Temps are very cool at 38c 100% load, very noisy at 100% fan speed though! The fan connector pins all seem fine with none bent or damaged from what I can see.
