Rx480 prices.... mining?

Check the cryptocompare mining calculator. With one RX480, around 100-150 US dollars a month depending on hashrate (if you pay for electricity).

The profits are good if you have several mining rigs. Then its worth it. If you have one or two cards, I wouldn't bother.

I'd say if you have 2 /SPARE/ GPUs then it's worth it. It's a pain in the ass trying to mine from your main rig - much easier to just build a second system to mine 24/7 instead of stop/starting when you want to play games etc.

Just saw the 470 "mining edition" at ocuk. Lol, what exactly makes this more suitable for mining that justifies that ludicrous price tag?

Still better than what i got a couple of months ago , sold my MSi Gaming X RX480 8gb for £200 a couple of weeks later they where selling like hot cakes for £300.
i bought mine off a friend for £80 about 6 weeks or so back, he was raging when he seen the price they now go for on ebay

only reason i noticed the price increase was because i was going to buy another one.
i never even noticed the price until just over a week ago when i went to check the 580 prices and noticed they were all sold out so had a look on ebay. that was a shock to put it mildly

$4-5 a day.
Ha, my main PC would probably use 50p just being on idle all day.

No-one in this country is paying $0.12/kWh. My unit rate is ~$0.13/kWh and I'm on a fixed deal that will end in 2 months. The best you can get right now is over $0.15/kWh.

You can get a rate of around $0.11-$0.12 (9p) in the uk, but it comes with a very high standing charge, so you need to be a big user to make it worth having.

Or if you in the right working environment such as myself. Stick the mining rig in a server room at work and let them pay the electricity bill :)

Sure, if you purposely switch knowing you'll be mining. The discussion was about whether it was worth mining if you happen to have an RX 4x0/5x0 lying around, in which case you'll be on a more typical tariff. Even with two servers, a power-hungry HTPC setup, and two old desktop PCs, and an electric oven, we still only use ~3400 kWh/year somehow. The only thing I can think of is we never use the kettle. :p

Not sure if this is the best thread to ask in, but can anyone recommend what coins to invest in and how to do it? I've heard of a couple of potential coins that might be worth investing in, with risk of course.. but maybe worth a try since some are so cheap, but it would pay off big.

Or move into a new build house with a 2Kw Solar panel system built into the roof, giving me free BTC (0.01 every 4 days) using Nicehash miner pool :P

Was watching some 390's on Ebay last night. Final auction prices seem to be around £270 / £300. Think I might flog mine and buy something real cheap just to browse with for a while.
