Hi guys/gals

I'm after help, I've finally got my motherboard issues sorted . b450 -> X570 motherboard, not a dram / cpu error led in sight.

Im wondering if anyone has actually got a fix to stop this dreaded RX5700XT black screen, I've tried a full windows reset, I've installed just the "driver" out of the setup folder, manual install.
I've tried both the old 2020 driver & software and the new 2020 software, I can't get my head round it, if It was a case of running 3d mark and it was cutting out - id think overheating etc.

but I can run a game (division 2) for an hour with something on the right key to keep my character spinning, and nothing everything works, but I can log into windows and leave it sat just at the desktop and blink "Black" screen, forcing a full reset :(

my setup

Gigabyte X570 Gaming X motherboard
ryzen 7-2700x (stock default settings) wraith prism
16gb (2x8gb sticks) ram
512gb nvme sabrent rocket
2tb hard drive
Bdxl bluray burner
corsair vs650 power supply.
creative omega tactic 3d headset.
derv germ keyboard
razor naga mmo mouse.

I used to get black screen randomly when loading up YouTube videos.
I had variable refresh rate turned on in the Windows graphics settings. Turning that off again seems to have fixed it.

see if upping power limit and voltage fixes the black screens
also check bios is up to date and you are running 2 separate pci express cables from psu to card (separately connected to psu too)

Ensure you've follwed AMD advice and disabled the likes of Enhanced sync and hardware acceleration in chrome and discord.

Remove any overclocks from cpu, ram and gpu.

Edit- Ensure it is runnning PCIE Gen 3 also.

Did you check windows logs to see if machine is stopping or it's just the display going down?

If machine is still running other than the black screen, could try just re-plugging the display cable or power display on and off. Are you using display port cable or HDMI? Could be worth checking power settings also. Maybe worth trying to RDP in to it if you have any other machine on same network and it is still up. Can at least soft reboot then.

Or hit CTRL Win Shift & B key to restart graphics driver

upping power limit and voltages - I've changed the voltage settings to under volt in radeon software...

also the card is powered off a single rail with dual pcie 8 pin adaptors, would running them off seperate rails work???? means a bi**h of a cable management...

Cant figure out if the POS PC is still running, I'm running off a Display port cable to display port on the back of my AOC U2879VF monitor, might try my cdmi v2 cable off my xbox one s.
