RX6800 (none xt) 1440p

Is the above card decent enough for maxing 1440p games ? I can’t quite justify the price of the xt version but the none xt seems fairly priced.

Is it equal to the nvida 3070?

It can handle 4K, so yes, it is fine for 1440p (especially if you're a 60 fps gamer). If you want ultra + rtx in games like Cyberpunk then it will start to choke, but I'm being extra picky.

It will be grand and with 16GB of vram it will give a certain amount of future proofing.

I have one running an ultrawide 3440x1440 175Hz screen, and it's absolutely fine - yes I don't get the full 175fps in more demanding games, but usually it's above 100. For non-ultrawide 1440p it will be a great card. Just don't expect too much in terms of RT performance.

I wanted a rtx card really, but prices seem crazy again for comparable amd cards.

3080s and above seem silly
