I know what you’re thinking, there’s more chance of a rocking horse turning up at my door and pooing through the letterbox than RyanAir giving me a refund, but hear me out.

We have flights booked in May to Dublin.
Original times were 14:45 > 15:45 outbound and 13:50 > 14:55 inbound.

These have changed in the RyanAir app and on the website are no longer available and have been replaced with 21:50> 22:50 outbound and 19:50 > 20:45 inbound.

This will mean we miss half the evening once there (including booked activities) and will be late back on Sunday (Fri - Sun)

When I called RyanAir they said to wait for an email confirming the change as couldnt cancel or anything until its confirmed by email. However I have a feeling this email will not arrive until days before flying. I can book another flight with similar times to original with Aer Lingus for not much more but obviously want to be refunded.

Has anyone had luck cancelling flights that have changed to original booked flight times?

Had a similar thing with TAP a few years ago. Outbound time got changed from morning to evening, I decided to not bother going at all, so requested full refund from their options in their email.

For some reason they only refunded me the outbound not the inbound, and I chased them up for a month afterwards, got no money just excuses and 'its on the way'. Fortunately the whole transaction amount was over £100 so I was able to do a chargeback through my credit card for the missing £70 or so I was owed, which I got back in my account within 48 hours!

If Ryanair have already changed the time, then surely they would be sending out emails to all those affected to let them know asap. I would try raise your complaint higher up and go via credit card if you get nowhere.

I had a similar thing happen this week with Ryanair for a flight in May. They changed to times for the flight back to the UK from 15:30 to 23:05. I didn't notice when it changed on the app only when I received an email. They give three different options:

1. Accept flight(s) time change
2. Change your flight for free
• You can choose to change your flight to the next available flight on the same route or to a flight departing one day before or one day after your new departure time. There are no flight change fees and you do not have to pay any fare difference.

Click here to contact our Customer Service team (subject to opening hours) if you wish to avail of the free change option.

• Please note that any changes exceeding the above periods will be subject to flight change fees and additional fare difference (if applicable).

3. Apply for refund
• You can cancel your reservation and claim a full refund of your unused flight(s). Please click here to start the refund process.

• You will receive your refund within 24 hours of completing the refund process.

Nuts. Will the credit card company (Nationwide) not touch it you think as its lower than £100? Total flight cost was £93.98. I would much rather get the full refund and book another flight whilst its available and isnt much more expensive.

Good to know what a full refund is possible, but this email might not arrive until its too late (well, too late to book a cheapish flight) We all have hotel rooms and activities booked already.
