While the stock cooler is quite good and keeps it cool enough, I would ideally like lower temps and a bit less noise while runing overclocked.

I'm feeling a drag towards watercooling, due to getting back into PC hardware this is another new area for me and I'm getting the itch to explore. Though don't want to fall down a money pit and get an ear bashing from other half...

Like the look at these kits: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ek-w...-performance-water-cooling-kit-wc-9ew-ek.html

How customisable are these kits? guessing liquid and tubing can be swapped for different colours?

Would that be a good middle ground between AIO and full on custom setup?

Or if AIO or Air is better, which is best to go with?
I have read loads of reviews, comparisons etc but am more interested in real users feedback as for me its more of a real test.

Other option is to price up and try and justify to myself a custom loop, just with a leg op and time off work coming up I'm trying not to get carried away spending...

The EKWB kits consist of actual custom loop water cooling parts, so yes they're a great way of getting into water cooling with the advantage of being able to swap out parts for other kit (though be careful as the kits are all aluminium, so don't introduce any copper parts into the loop). I've not bought the kits personally so you might want to hang on for some actual user feedback.

A decent air cooler will be cheaper and will cool your 1600 no problem. You've just got to make sure whatever air cooler you.might want will fit in your case and will not obstruct your RAM.
