Ryzen "2" ?

I agree, RAM prices these days suck. I bought 16GB a couple of years ago for about £70 then another 16GB a year ago for £110 and now the same kit is close to £200.

But, that's just the way it is. RAM pricing has always fluctuated over the years and sometimes the prices have gone to crazy levels in the past too. It'll work itself out again eventually I'm sure.

I paid just under £100 for 16GB of DDR3 back in 2011 when I ordered my 2600K setup. I remember noticing fairly soon after that, that DDR3 pricing was not anywhere near as low as that and it remained that way for quite a long time.

I'll stick to complaining and you can stick to bending over and taking it dry if you want.

I think allot of people dont take one MASSIVE price factor.
BEFORE 6700k and ryzen everyone was sitting on theirs ddr3 platforms like buldozer and sandy for YEARS waiting for the nex big jump in performance on cpu side.

So no one was buying ddr4 besided people like me that went HEDT aka HW-E

Then bam 6700k landed and not ling after ryzen and DDR4 became nessesary to have thise platforms running.

So all the kits that ware just taking space in warehouses at low point due to no market demand got cleared out in years time.

And thats why prices are where they are now. They are nor producing much more of customer ddr kits than they used to but demand went up like 400% in comparisson to 2015/2016
And demand wont drop anytime soon afaik...

Prices are here to stay simple

I think you are probably right. Desktop use of DDR4 has skyrocketed. I only bought some in March 2017 for the first time. Normally a high demand if planned for can lead to cost reductions and savings for consumers but no apparent sign of this ocurring with DDR4 PC compatible memory.

That is so far from accurate it is almost laughable.

By far the largest consumer of RAM are OEM's, whether that be for Datacentre/Commercial/Desktops/Laptops etc. The fact of the matter is that memory manufacturers saw an opportunity to increase profit, and took it, but they went too far and it's now coming back on them.

Go and read, and understand what you are talking about, don't just make stuff up about what you think is right.

Hahahhaahaha you guys are hilarious.

Just because "thats the way it is" doesn't mean its acceptable.

It's now compulsory to hand over all your wages every month, no point complaining, its just the way it is.... some of you are the reason we are heading into a dystopian fascist future.
It starts with ram, and ends with being rammed.

I know that knew for years. We people that buy and build PC's are on very end of food chain for them. They dont give a **** about us. So what that You me or soeone else wont pay 200+ for ram ?? Do You think they care ?? No because thats not where they make REAL MONEY.

And if it goes for court case. They will pay the loose change and continue as they do.

I always wounder what happens with those MILIONS oe dolalrs euros massive companies pay ?? Where do those money go ?? I bet its another scam and we end up messed around twice.

how are you compariong GIVING away money to Buyng stuff You DONT NEED with them ??

Tip if You buy something you have it
If you give money away you end up with Nothing in return.

If they get fined, and pay it, they can't continue as they are since they will have been found guilty in more than one country (more than likely) and will be forced to increase supply, and therefore decrease the price.

So to quote you again
Prices are here to stay simple

No, they are not.

I bought that 512kb ram pack thing for the Amiga 500+ , made me feel like a computing god back then, meant i could play body count and rise of the robots, made , it came from the desert 2 run properly too, good ol days them.

I was just giving a sweeping generalization, just because "thats the way it is" doesnt make it right, no matter what it is that is wrong.
If water rates were £10,000 a year, this would be okay because its the way it is?
You get my point, im outta this conversation

At this point i think DDR4 isn't going to be well priced until next year. Unless it starts dropping within the next few months, and by then DDR5 is just around the corner.
Yup and ddr5 is new tech and new tech always got NEW tax right ??

Still waiting to see 10nm DDR4 from samsung

@Journey

But aparently factories are running at 100% production so how they can make them run at 120% ?? If You are at 100% there is no option to do more afaik.

@Illuminist there is difference when You are forced to pay something or not.
Like I need bend over to car insurance companies and fork out loads of cash for insurance for car that i use 4-5 times A MONTH because It's illegal to drive without insurance. If it was an option I'd gladly drive without it.

no one is forcing us to buy/upgrade PC's thats an option we like or want to do.

The memory IC firms aren't playing by the rules it seems. Apparently all the big players have agreed to limit production.

Well till it actually turns out True its just assumption.
Who knows maybe it is a VW emission scam in PC market??
Somehow in kast few years it became very populat to accuse someone or some company of doing something with no real evidence. Reputations get ruined in days that been build over years.

Atm on top its the I WAS RAPED theme by looks of it every actor director cleaner in movie industey is a rapist...

I promise that if this turn out to be true i will hand wright letters to those companies full of hate and disguat and send them out. Shiet ill even give them a ring MY STYLE

Or place order at http://www.sendshit.co.uk/.

For now I see it as accuaation npthing more.
