Ryzen 2600x vs 3600x

Hi all

Going to be buying my new cpu and mobo soon

Was set on the 2600x,but is it worth paying the extra for the 3600x??

I wont be overclocking or gaming to highest quality resolution

I do want longevity out of the cpu as in terms of longest time to upgrade again

Would it last much longer and would i notice any difference in the two?

It may be a daft question to some,but am a novice trying to learn about it

I would only get the 3600x if it was on discount since the regular 3600 is almost as fast.

The Ryzen 5 3600X is available for under £200 if you shop around....so get the Ryzen 5 3600X IMHO.

It may be me being thick,but the 2600x and the 3600 the same speed at 3.6?

What benefit would i get over the 2600x?

It's not the speed alone that matters, IPC will be different too.

Unless you are after a X570 motherboard with PCIE4 (Gigabyte X570 Arous Elite and ASUS TUF Gaming X570 are good choices), it's cheaper to get a B450 motherboard that already has bios updated to support the newer Ryzen 3000 series, such as the MSI Tomahawk B450 MAX.
Some motherboards also has a bios flashback feature so you can update the bios via USB stick.

The 3600 is virtually the same as the 3600x,the 3600x has slightly higher boost and comes with a better cooler,the 3600 you can oc it and buy a better budget cooler

In the UK the Ryzen 5 3600X can be had for under £200 - not only do you get a better cooler,you get some free games too. So if you are UK based,get a Ryzen 5 3600X,as its only a few quid more than a Ryzen 5 3600.

When i bought my 3600, the difference between the price of the 3600 and 3600X was a lot, so i went with the 3600. I just checked, it is less than 15£ now. For a better chance to see that 4.4GHz - GO for the 3600X.
