Hi,

Just been testing mine on Cinebench R15 and a little puzzled. I don't seem to be getting slightly lower multi core and only the same single core when upping the ram from 3400 to 3600.

2700x - 4.2ghz - Ram 3400hz (14/14/15/14/30) - 165 SC & 1900 MC
2700x - 4.2ghz - Ram 3600hz (14/15/15/15/30) - 165 SC & 1898 MC

Are your scores similar and why arent i getting more with the ram going from 3400 to 3600? Thought the way these processors work is that the higher the ram the higher the performance?

Cheers

If you can get 14/14/14/14/28 at 3200Mhz you’ll probably get a slightly better score.

I get 1950 or so. Seems to prefer tighter timings over RAM speed.

Cinebench.

Can’t tell the difference playing games. :)

I gave up with the all core OC and just tweaked XFR instead in the end. Ran cooler and boosts higher.

XFR and PBO enabled, BCLK 103.

Had BCLK at 103.5 which boosted to 4.5Ghz but BFV didn’t like it. 3200Mhz RAM will also be running at about 3300Mhz.

Might need a little negative offset on the VCORE though.

So no overclock on the cpu at all (just increasing bclk to 103.5) and just let xfr and pbo do its work?

Ah so 103.5 caused issues , would lowering it to say 102 be better ?

Yep, though starting at BCLK 101 should be fine and then test increasing at .25 increments until you get to where you want to be.

I’ve heard that you can risk NVMe corruption on PCIE if you go too far but the only problem I had was instability with the RAM, BFV aside.

Found BFV just hammered all cores and 4.5Ghz boost was a bit much for it. Silicon lottery though TBF. Yours might be better, or it might be worse.

Just changed it to XFR/PBO for the cpu and the ram set it to 3200hz 14/14/14/14/28 and now getting slightly lower MC at 1864 but SC has jumped to 178

Temps are lower and its boosting between 4.25 and 4.35 now :)

Increment the BCLK and the boost and RAM speeds increase. Works for me. :)

I did get slightly better Cinebench scores with an all core OC of 4.25Ghz but that was about it. Prefer the higher single core boosts whenever it’s needed instead.

Takes ages to benchmark for stability though. Eventually I turned it down a tad and just got on with gaming instead. :p

God I hate computers lol. Just tried tweaking a bit more and wouldn't boot so went back into bios to load up my saved xfr and 3200 case 14 save and now won't boot

103 freezes on boot. Just done BCLK 102 and got MC of 1914 and SC of 182

That's a pretty decent increase over the original settings and that was with 3400 and 3600 ram too!

Just done a bit of gaming and seem to have got about 10% more fps too! Ran hwinfo and it looks like its boosting to 4.435hz . That's slightly faster SC than a 6700k with a way better MC . Well chuffed

Congrats. :)

Now you see what I meant. Most people seem more determined to all core OC but I really can’t see the point.
