Hello folks
Posted a general query yesterday regarding my issues, no luck so thought I'd try the cpu forum.
Ryzen 3 2200g
Aorus b450 I Pro
8gb Teamgroup 3000 ram
To cut a long story short, I keep getting a crash installing graphics drivers.
Fresh Windows 10 install, first crash on system update when it tries to install amd drivers. Screen refreshes to 1080p, then goes black and restarts, then loads to homescreen then instant restart. This repeats 3 times then gives up and I have to go into safe mode and revert display driver to basic display
I've updated bios to newest available, fresh install
I've downloaded chipset and installed without display drivers. Everything seems to work until display driver install. Been trying for 3 days and I'm ready to launch this thing out the window!!
I can't find a viable solution online. Anyone experienced this?

Sounds like you might have a faulty CPU, or at least the GPU portion is faulty. Worth also running a Mem test on your system, but it doesn't sound good given your description. :(

Yes I'm now at that stage of thinking it may be a fault. Done some previous 2200g builds and never had this issue.
I'll do the memtest if I can bear switching the thing back on tonight.
My only other last resort theory is power. I notice when loading into windows before the crash the fans ramp up and it feels like it's getting more juice compared to when it starts with just the basic display. Could it be power supply not giving the graphics portion enough juice? Is that possible?
I do have my main pc, but really don't want to pull the supply out to try

Fans will ramp up due to the CPU geting used more because of boot/loading of OS .

Have you checked the voltages of the PSU , specifically 5.0v and 3.3v side

Checked psu voltages and both 5v and 3.3v are pretty solid, both hovering just above.
I messed about a bit last night. Upped the graphics voltage and it seemed to allow me to stay in Windows for about 10 seconds longer! I was even able to revert display driver back in time to avoid crash.
I haven't done a cmos clear after my bios updates so I'll try that then do fresh install and install only the motherboard recommend drivers. This is a pain, but determined to sort it!

I would first check the vcore voltage with something like HWINFO. My own Gigabyte b450 auros vdroops hard on system load and you may have a situation of the voltage going below the required amount to be stable. The fact that gigabyte don't allow of LLC on these boards is maddening.

Even if its not vcore related it may be voltage related in general again due to drooping indicated by your own result from increasing graphics voltage.

OK, bit the bullet and pulled wires out my own pc and hooked up the psu. All working! Booted straight away in 1080p, checked devices and there was the vega display. Installed updates, chipset and got radeon finally showing!
So, When's ocuk final delivery?!
Might just get a kolink 500 to do the job

Glad to hear you found the issue.

I have the 2200G and using on board gpu for a build on my son's PC and I am quite surprised at how well it can run games etc.

What version of W10 are you using? 1803 or 1809?

I originally installed straight onto 1809, but decided to try earlier build as part of trouble shooting. It's updated to 1803 at moment.
Ordered a new psu. Hopefully arrive on Monday! Would be good to plumb it in and be ready on Christmas day.
Thanks for the help folks and happy Christmas

When I got mine in May the mobo did not have a bios that supported the 2200 on so had to get a boot kit from AMD so I could get it to boot to update the bios. I knew of this though and built it early in case this was needed.

I got the Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 AMD B350 motherboard.

had no issues with getting ram to run at 3000mhz either

If you need me to check anything on my 2200G system let me know.

So you've managed to get the Vega Drivers working on the 2200g?

My problem was the 2200g drivers wouldn't load no matter what I did. I installed a second hand Nvidia card, the Nvidia card worked and then the Nvidia card died. Some how once it died the Vega drivers started working. However a problem with the motherboard and hard drive meant I needed to return both pieces of hardware. On a new motherboard/SSD the driver was once again not working. So I gave up and bought a new RX 570 card.

It might be a completely different problem to yours but thought I'd drop the problem in this thread. Not really a problem anymore unless the graphics card fails.

Yes got the drivers working fine. I didn't use amd site though, got the chipset from motherboard site. The chipset includes the graphic driver.
I read about the issues which made my problem hard to diagnose as lots of people have had driver issues.
You can also start the driver install then quit. The package will be on the drive. You can then go to display in device manager and 'install' the driver that way. That method fixed a lot of issues for others
