Hi all

Will these two newer CPUs work on any B450 boards or are they like all Ryzen 3000 series and only work out the box on MSI B450 Max boards?

Cheers

I would imagen like all other 3000 series CPUs that they would require a bios update to work unless of course your b450 comes with a 3000 ready sticker.

Some boards allow BIOS updating from USB without a CPU such as MSI's Tomahawk.

Some people, myself included, experienced issues with this so be careful. That was with an MSI Pro Carbon. Replaced it with a Tomahawk however (built the system for a friend's son) and had no issues with the process.

Each series of APUs has different microcode to the generation of CPU it belongs to so you can consider them separate from a support perspective.

Do they still boot if the board supports Ryzen 3000, cos they didn't exist when the original BIOS was released?

These CPUs don't have igp.
