Hey guys,

Just a simple question, referencing to my PC Build that I'm currently planning. Are there any potential issues using a Ryzen 3700X + RX 5600 XT for my PC, such as Bottlenecking or BIOS issues?

Any feedback would be highly appreciated!

Sorry bro but the graphics card will bottle neck the CPU by a mile.
I get an 8 percent ish bottle neck with a RTX 2080 oc.
If you game at 1080p and have a low refresh rate monitor you will game ok though.

Not sure what you mean by bottle necking really with the 3700X/5600XT.

In the current world of CPUs - the 3700X is the optimal CPU to go for, paired with a good 1080p card like the 5600 XT - I don't see any issues at all...

Surely having a laugh, "8 percent bottle neck"...

In gaming the ideal case is to have your GPU as the bottleneck so you are getting the most out of it and not being held back by the CPU. Nothing wrong with 3700x/5600xt at all. If you are only gaming a 3600/5700xt may be another option

Surely this is bad advice. Would be better off going with a 3600x and a 5700XT. If you game, you're better off with a better GPU. Games won't use the whole of a 3600x anyway and benchmarks show there's little difference between 3600x and 3700x for gaming if the card is a 5700xt

Not sure if it's either me (or others) have got the wrong end of the stick here... I envisioned the OP already has a budget and was within it, having a 3600X/5600XT spec'd and just wanted to know if any compatibility issues.

I didn't realise he was asking whether he should spend more money and get a 5700XT instead Sorta like saying "go for a 9700k + 2080 Super cos more fps"...

Obviously 'bottle necking' isn't really an issue in the realms of a 3600+ CPU and a 5600XT+ GPU, they are both well regarded and good performing CPU/GPUs.

This thread has lost me :D

Spot on, but I should've been more clear in my post. However I am very grateful for your feedbacks, as you lot have given me insight on this very topic. Thank you guys for the help!

I've just seen your other thread, is it based on this one? What's your current basket and do you plan to just game on it?

Tbh after reading your other thread now, if you just game and want better FPS - then I would actually drop the CPU to a 3600 and up the GPU to the 5700 XT for the same money, if not a tenner saved maybe. That would 'balance out' your bottle neck so to speak as well lol.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £579.94 (includes shipping: £0.00)

EDIT: Or if you want to 'save' as much money as possible, if you only game at say 1080p, then sticking with the 5600 XT and dropping CPU still to a 3600 will save you £110 if you're bothered.

Also please get an SSD, if you want any suggestions just ask. Don't just get a normal HDD, that is suicide for a gaming PC these days! :p If you don't have the budget, then dropping the CPU to the 3600 will give you that ~£110 to get one. :)
