Hi

Looking to do a cheap but snappy build for general browsing, excel, etc. Nothing too heavy. No gaming or movies. Budget about 500 to include case and PSU but not monitors and peripherals.

Can I use a 3400G base with a B450 board that has integrated graphics? [Edit - title fail, meant 3400G not 3500G!]

Are there any boards that work with the 3xxx series out of the box without needing BIOS flashing etc. MATX would be great but if it has to be full size that isn't a deal breaker

I wondered about this board for example.

And maybe this RAM?

Plan would be to try and run the memory at 3200mhz which I know from old ryzen build makes a nice difference, but to use STOCK HSF and no CPU over clocking.

Many thanks

That board may need a bios update to work with a Ryzen 3000 series cpu so you would neeb a older Ryzen cpu to do it. You would be better off going for one of the MSI Max series boards which has Ryzen 3000 series support straight from the box or going for a board that has USB bios flashback. Good choice of memory as everyone is raving about it and there is a big thread on it here.

Thanks!

I gone for the msi b450 max tomahawk, the CPU and RAM as above and a nice MSI case and superflower 550w PSU. Also a 500mb m2 drive.

Came to 470 which hopefully is great value.

Ive got the non-max version of the Tomahawk and it's a cracking board for the price, you wont go wrong with it plus the max version has the extra memory so you can still have the flashy looking bios and new CPU support :)
