Ryzen 5000 crashes - anyone getting them?

WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Suddenly getting crashes:

----------------------------------

A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error
Processor APIC ID: 0
The details view of this entry contains further information.

----------------------------------

The only thing I have done that I can think of as causing instability are the Windows updates.

EDIT - Just uninstalled 21H2 lets see if it helps.

EDIT EDIT - Well well well... I uninstalled the latest W10 feature upgrade and my situation seems to have improved. Lets see how it holds up.

Because of the nature of the fault you won't pick it up in normal stress tests so I'm guessing if you send both back to OCUK they will just run some benchmark tests on it then say it's fine and just return it to you again that's why I recomend sending it direct to AMD as they will likey just replace it and then you will know for sure.
Thanks! Might have found it.
Just set Chrome affinity to core 0 and crashes stopped. So I can go through the cores (kinda glad it's not a threadripper ;) ) and/or threads to confirm which core it is that's crashing.
At least then I can go to AMD with this. Kinda annoyed at Overclockers, I understand it's a hard to replicate fault, but if they just loaded chrome, they would have found it. Unless it is the VRMs on this motherboard... But is it even possible for a motherboards VRMs to only cause faults on one of the cores? gah, so annoying :( ).

I can't see an option on the motherboard to disable cores, else I'd do that and boot to linux. But currently linux throws kernal errors, and won't even boot from a USB anymore.

Just tested Chrome set to Core 5 (Threads 8/9 in Task Manager) and it crashes, setting to any other core and it's FINE! Phew, it took forever with 12 threads, and Chrome spawning 8 to 12 threads. When I tried this previously, I was not able to get it stable, but that might have been cos I missed a proces/exe.

Just used Ryzen Master to disable cores 5, 6. No errors now. I will double check with other cores too, but must boot in multiples of 2 it seems, so can't just run 1 core or whatever. It might be the core wants a better power supply/vrm... but I doub't it would be this stable with the one core disabled, if it's not the actual core at fault.

So I'll try my best to get through to AMD again, as my previous RMA expired as it's taken so long to fault find.

bit of a thread revival - I've just had the same thing, tried everything else I could find and in the end I had to remove my overclock on my graphics card (rx 480) - seems ok now.

Anyone know of the AMD RMA process? My CPU delivery tracking shows AMD received it (signed for) last week, but no update on my RMA. I'm now panicking that they have not linked my parcel/cpu to my RMA and it might get lost. :(
I'm pushing for like a month now without this PC up and running!

Crazy idea... but proactively call or contact AMD for an update?

No worries... crazy idea, but perhaps I have and AMD is opaque in "RMA updated: Status [blank]" in not actually updating the status to me? So I thought I'd post here for any who have experience, considering this is the AMD chip RMA/troubleshooting thread.

Looking at AMDs forums and Reddit threads, AMD just in 2-3 weeks sends the CPU back or a replacement after testing, but does not update people on where in the process the RMA is or what stage it is at. :(
Overclockers were much more helpful, even if their tests were not sufficient.

I cannot see an AMD live chat option on their site, and as said, their email response was to send an email with a blank response field. (though the reply header said "RMA updated", so I assume something changed) :P

if its anything like I have sent away for RMA you could be months the fastest thing I ever did was 6 weeks

Wow. Thanks. At least the weather is nice and things are opening up again then. :P
Was putting off rebuilding my old system as hoping the cpu would turn around quickly. So might just disassemble the new build *again* so I have some parts with some performance to use in the mean time (currently old pc has 4gb ram and a 1gb gpu vs the new build which was 32gb and a 1060ti. :P ).

Completly forgot lol, I was getting these background errors, was not causing any crashing, only noticed due to curiosity. Latest BIOS update got rid of them for me... as I say though, was not causing any issues or instability in the first place.

I have a strange one. I have just built a new pc for the wife using a Ryzen 3 4300GE, MSI B450M Mortar Max, 128Gb Integral NVME drive and 2x 8Gb sticks of Patriot Viper DDR4 3600 C18 using the onboard AMD graphics. First thing I did was update to the latest bios although the one installed was only three releases old and supported the 4300GE anyway. Went into the bios and set everything up including seting XMP to profile 1 (3600mhz C18 @1.35v) then installed Windows 10 Home. While installing and updating Windows everything was fine. Once Windows was updated I installed all the latest drivers. I set the power plan to AMD Ryzen Balanced and rebooted. Once I had booted again I found that the PC would only run for 10 minutes before going to a black screen which I couldn't get out of. I also noticed the motherboards CPU led was lit indicating a fault/failed CPU. I seemed to recall hearing something like this before and it could be fixed by enabling the AMD Ryzen High Performance power plan. While doing this I noticed that the AMD Balanced power plan actually shuts the CPU down, as in 0% minimum power state which is obviously the problem. Switching to the High Performance plan has fixed the problem but now the CPU never drops to idle speed/volts, surely I don't have to leave it like this all the time. On the balanced plan what should I set the minimum CPU state to so that it idles without crashing the PC to a black screen?

Tried 5% and then 10% and still crashes to a black screen that I can't recover from. I have to hit the reset button to reboot. This is weird and I have never come across this before, then again it's my first AMD build since Socket 939 was killed off so it could be something I am doing or not doing.

Almost sounds like it's hibernating but not waking up.. try setting the PC to wake from USB input in the BIOS, it's worth a try.

Hibernation is disabled and this is actually happening when I am using the PC although it's a low load. It seems to be every time it drops to idle speeds as on High performance mode it works fine as it doesn't lower the clocks and voltage. Once it goes to a black screen there seems to be no way to recover apart from hitting the reset button which is starting to mess up Windows. Once I get to the bottom of this I will have to reinstall Windows 10 again.

The Realtek Audio and ethernet drivers are from MSI's website, the rest are direct from AMD.

I have seen a few threads of very similar problems where chipset drivers been the issue.

Sorted it. Had a play in the bios which I am not familiar with and everything works ok when on the Ryzen balanced power plan now. Sdaly it would seem that Ryzen Master doesn't support the Ryzen 3 4300GE though. Wasn't going to overclock it, just wanted it for the monitoring side of things really.
