Ryzen 5000 crashes - anyone getting them?

Sorted it. Had a play in the bios which I am not familiar with and everything works ok when on the Ryzen balanced power plan now. Sdaly it would seem that Ryzen Master doesn't support the Ryzen 3 4300GE though. Wasn't going to overclock it, just wanted it for the monitoring side of things really.

Glad to hear, what was it in the end ? Did you have to faff with C-states ?

I have no idea what it was. I fiddled around in the bios (MSI's bios is worse than Gigabytes!!), changed a couple of settings in the Ryzen power plan and everything works. After a couple of days pulling my hair out trying to understand why this was happening I now don't care why it was happening, just that it's now fixed. Got to say, I am really impressed with this little CPU. 36w fully loaded, 2w at idle and the onboard GPU is very impressive. Memory is running at 3600mhz no problem. I just need to figure out how to work the Ryzen memory tweaker tool to see if I can tighten the timings a bit.

5800x (second hand, my own cost) *WORKS FINE*... I'll double check the motherboard/psu is not gonna fry it by running it in for a month or two. Need a better cooler, so will get one on order.
Sooo... who do I complain to? AMD now recon they (but no doubt will blame me) "lost" my CPU, even though the parcel was signed for, and no notification of any trouble when it arrived.

Overclockers sent me the CPU back as working... and have wasted a lot of my time, no PC for that time, and did not listen to my fault in the first place (that the CPU was crashing in chrome, they tested prime95/benchmarks etc, which don't put the cpu in sleep states, so won't have crashed it in the low power state it was failing in).

Just kinda livid now with the cost of having to buy other parts to test with, having to wait months, etc. Probably won't be bringing any more custom to OCUK now. I know that's burning a bridge while the RMA is still going, but like, what am I suppose to do? Take another risk on £1000s getting a GPU with them next for the same (slim chance, but just not worth it) again if a batch of CPUs go bad? No thanks. :(

I put up with a wonky WHEA 5800x for a couple of months before RMAing to AMD. Like similar issues other people had, it was passing full load tests but less intense gaming loads would randomly BSOD. I kind of fixed it with CTR which fixed voltages and clocks according to a profile but it still managed to BSOD once in a while.

I was reluctant to post it to the EU after waiting over a month for UPS to sort out RMA for an Xbox controller but luckily DHL, AMDs courier of choice, zipped it back to them no problem. I just received the shipping confirmation of the replacement so hopefully my WHEA error BSOD nightmare is over soon.

Yeah. AMD has finally issued a replacement. It seems they might just be delayed and not updating their automated system so it's worrying us customers with warnings of cancellations.

Will see how the 5600x does when the replacement arrives. The 5800x is nice, but hot. I also was linda liking the power savings of the 5600x. Now I'm torn on which one to keep. Got a cooler on the way for the 5800x. If it does not throttle or crash with a pbo offset (undervolt) it would be worth keeping.

What powersupply? Generally you will be ok, but some rare reports of 3000 systems with AMD and some PSUs crashing (JayZ2Cents did a youtube on it) and at a guess, I'd say it's the boost behaviour of the GPU and CPU just overwhelming the trip protection in the PSU as it's mistaking it for a fault, and not just a normal voltage spike for power.

For my 5600x this was the troubleshooting thing (though yours is a 5900x, so kinda harder).
Run with basic/default ram profile, so 1200hz, not 3200hz.
Run with no OC/bosting allowed, to make sure the core/clocks/boost is not over boosting, under/overvolting etc.
Run with most cores disabled, then do tests (or alternatively, run with 2 cores disabled, and run through each core pair) to find if any cores are dead/throwing errors (AMD Ryzen master allows you to turn off some cores).

My errors were only really in Chrome/etc. But others report random crashes from the AMD chips, which I assume is something to do with the boost behaviour as most boards seem to be over boosting (Intel boosts too, but only to the max of the chip IIRC, where as these motherboards seem to be hitting close to 5ghz on 4.7/4.8ghz chips as reported in HWMonitor, but Ryzen Master shows much lower numbers).

I've not got my 5600x back/the replacement just yet. But booting with the 5800x totally solved my problems, so currently waiting to get a bigger heatsink for it, and to tune it's voltage down cos it's way to power hungry/boost stupid.
Let us know how it goes, as most the reddit threads seem dead now, so we need a place for people who can help. :)

Thanks for your reply,I've just watched the utube video you mentioned, and altho I think my PSU if fine (750w) I have
ordered a new one (850w) just to eliminate it. My Graphics card is an AMD RX580, and i have uninstalled the drivers and let windows 10
use its drivers, and have been stable for the last four hours, but as I said in my origunal post its intermittent so I will just wait and see
what happens. There seems to be a lot of problems looking on this site with the ryzen, hopefully it will sort itself out.

I have the same motherboard, and CPU with slightly faster RAM and have the same issue...
Allthough my APIC ID crash is different:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error
Processor APIC ID: 27

So far:
Have Tried to manually tune, CO and PBO.
Default Bios.

My issues haven't changed.

report fault to AMD, I have They have replied wanting more details,
which I have now sent and are awaiting there reply. Looking on the web this seems
to be a problem with quite a few people, so the more that report to AMD the
more chance we have of finding an answer.

Did you do this through their warranty service?

Suffered a few hiccups to begin with, but personally found medium/high LLC and Optimised/Extreme power phases fixed it.
I believe some chips need a bit more oomph than some Bios and board combinations give out at default settings.

No I just went onto the amd web page, support click drivers and support, scrolll down to
customer support technical and warrenty help then scroll down to bottom of
that page contact support, there is a page for you to fill in all details etc.
They got back to me next day.

Have you had any usable feedback provided to you yet from it?

Gigabyte B550 Auros Elite v2
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600Mhz CMW16GX4M2D3600C18 (4x8GB)
Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700XT Auros Elite
Corsair RMx 750W
Samsung 980 Pro 1TB NVMe

All on the latest drivers and firmware available (BIOS bumped from f12 to f13g out of sheer frustration, after having been perfectly fine on the former until the crashes started). Everything has been STOCK since I built the PC.

But I still get random crashes when performing minimal tasks. COD Black Ops runs perfectly fine, with the CPU and GPU auto-boosting when needed. In the game's menu, alt-tab to check something in Opera, open an Excel spreadsheet, completely minimal load for my setup, and it just dies. Game not running at all, randomly watching something on YouTube with maybe a couple more tabs open, and it just dies. And it's happening more frequently now.

This only started happening about a week ago, and my system has run without any real issues for the last 2-3 months that I've had it.

Error Message:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error
Processor APIC ID: 2 (this number changes, but the most common is 2)

I've already tried every "fix" I could find on Google, without success. Everything is stock (even PBO was disabled), and I'm not prepared to nerf the CPU into the ground just to get it working like it's bloody meant to (at stock clocks).

Done banging my head against the wall with this, so I've ordered a new CPU and will try and RMA the screwed one.

I would stay clear away from Ryzen 5000 cpu as I seen a lot of complaints lately. AMD - you should be ashamed but still selling faulty cpu when they knew faulty cpu is very illegal to sold to the customers. My 3700x is also faulty cpu as will RMA it soon and will buy a new 5700G when it release!
