I'm currently looking to grab a 5600X for a photoshop/light video editing build for a friend, but a little torn between grabbing that or just picking up a 3700x (which will be my backup if I can't get the 5600x). The multi-core on the 3700x is slightly higher while the 5600x is obviously higher on the single-core.
Which metric would software like Photoshop realistically utilise more? I know that video rendering, editing etc. which is where my friend will be headed, but I'm wondering if the single-core boost of the 5600x might actually yield more gains when it comes to general editing and photoshop?
