Hello all,
I've used up all my Googlefoo and can't find an answer to why my Ryzen 7 1700 will not overclock. Any advice would be gratefully received.
So here's the issue:
Mobo: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro (BIOS version F5)
RAM: 32 GB DDR4 Elite 2400 MHz (this was given to me and I can't tell if it's on the MQVL, possibly an issue?)
CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
System boots no problem at all with stock BIOS/UEFI
If I change the clock multiplier from auto to say 31 to get a very mild overclock of 3100 MHz no dice, system reboots into BIOS recovery same if I try from 3700 MHz. Any multiplier I set causes the system not to boot. Even if I set a multiplier of 30 to match the stock speed of 3000 MHz; no boot.
I can adjust RAM frequency and VCore voltage offset whilst leaving the CPU clock multiplier on auto and the system will boot.
Am I looking at a dodgy board?
Thanks
