Ryzen 9 3900X vs 3950X

Hi,

Between the 3900X and the 3950X which one should I get? I will probably end up pairing it with an Aorus Xtreme and I only really game. I don't do any editing or anything like that.

Hah, okay. I'll probably go for the 3900X then. You mentioned cooling - would the Noctua NHD-15 do a good enough job? I presume it would.

Okay, thanks for everyone’s advice. One other question: what RAM would you suggest for AMD CPUs? I’ve heard there can be some issues overclocking certain RAM sticks with AMD processors.

Yeah, I’ll probably do some RAM overclocking but not much - I won’t be aiming to beat any records.

I’ve seen the 8Pack RAM. It’ll probably be a contest between those and the Vipers as they both seem like pretty good RAM.

Yeah, I might go for the 3700X or the 3600X. I was originally thinking of going for the i7-9700K. How would the 3900X, 3700X, and the 3600X compare to an i7-9700K?

I’ve since changed my mind on the motherboard and will probably go with the Aorus Master instead, as it is half the price. Because I’ve never had an AMD system before I think I felt slightly overwhelmed in the beginning.

My GPU is an EVGA RTX 2080TI FTW3 Ultra, and my resolution is 1440p.

For cooling whatever CPU I end up with I will get a Noctua NHD-15 Chromax.

And no, I don’t stream.
