Ryzen 9 5900X and ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E build

Can you use the onboard HDMI graphics port with the Ryzen 9 5900X and ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E. ? ? ? just thinking would be good to have a internal graphics backup in case I have to RMA graphics card in future.

I dont think it will work as 5900X doesn't have integrated graphics

As above, the 5900X doesn't have an iGPU, so the HDMI port on the board won't give you a video output.

What is the system going to be used for ?

Also you could easily save a lot of money with alternative parts. The Motherboard, Case, SSD and Ram are all pretty expensive.

Only CPUs with integrated GPU would give picture from mobo's display connections.
AMD calls those CPU models as APUs and they have G in the end of model number.

And for all the hype and high price Asus has the scrappiest X570 chipset cooler designs straight from rear hole of brand hype marketroids:

- Actual heatsink under plasticky marketing excrement covers is small.
- And pretty much relies on constant airflow from constantly running fan... Constricted by more marketing BS.
- With whole crud in the worst place directly under graphics card to be bathed in its heat.

So if you put there hot high end GPU, chipset will be running hot in longer gaming sessions. (worsened by any room temperature problems at summer)
And should be easy to guess what happens, if/when fan wears out.

MSI X570 Tomahawk is far better design quality board for lot less.

With proper size chipset heatsink farther from GPU's heat that fan is unlikely to run ever, if you have working case cooling.
So fan is unlikely to ever wear out and its failure wouldn't be any critical problem.

That memory is horribly brand and Ridiculously Grossly Bloated overpriced.
It has worser latencies than this £150 kit!

Not that PCIe v4 makes any noticeable differences over PCIe v3, unless you're playing copying files/folders endlessly to fill the drive...

Mainly used for games and working from home

thanks , it’s been a long time since my last intel build and still not sure about moving to AMD Ryzen or waiting for Rocket Lake
