Was looking to build a pc using the ryzen 5 2600 paired with the asrock pro4 atx motherboard and was wondering weather i need a graphics card or not

Yes, the 2600 doesn't have integrated graphics so you'll need a graphics card of some kind.

Ryzen chips ending with a G denote having graphics integrated

The 2400G is the same price as the 2600, although you're dropping down to a quad core.
