My son obtained a gaming PC from Overclockers in December 2018.
GigabyteB450-AORUS-ELITE MB
Team Group Vulcan T-Force 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit
Ryzen 2600
Vega56 GPU

Us the RAM best for that CPU & MB combo?
Will he get the max speed from that RAM? Is it Samsung dye ram?
Will he get the best CPU performance from it with the way the Ryzen chips work?

Tbe bios of the MB has been updated to the latest.
Does the Amd chipset sw need to be updated too from the Gigabyte page?

We have been trying to get it into Overclockers to check everything due to frane rates dropping drastically and stutters but due to Covid lock downs not be able to.

Hi,

The questions here will help us to help you.
What games are your son playing?
What monitor is he using? And, if known, what framerate is he targetting (it could be 60Hz, or higher, depending on monitor).
In the games, what is the detail/graphics level he is using?
Has it lost performance since it was originally bought, in the same games?

This part of the forums is CPU-focussed. You might also have more feedback on the system builds section.

Vega GPU is still ok for e.g. Fortnight at low resolution graphics choices; I know this because I was getting 100 FPS with a lower card: 580 Rx and with a lower CPU.

The RAM is at the low end for gaming , but in quantity not speed. But don't go buying more until other things are checked through here.

Is there a chance the PC has had other software installed that is running along in the background, taking resources?

Do your storage drives still have free space available?
